The next big thing! - Direct-to-Garment printing or DTG printing allows for a full color, CMYK print to occur at one time! This method of printing is the newest offering at Big Red Prints. When a design is too many colors or not affordable for the client to print just a few items, we suggest Direct-to-Garment printing, a CMYK, water-based ink is printed on the garment taking place in one moment.
Traditionally, the process of screen printing takes a lot of time and occurs in stages. We set up your artwork, transfer each color onto a screen, setup all the screens on the press, then finally start printing. This takes time and can be too costly for orders with a lower quantity of garments needed. This is why DTG printing is so important. We want full color printing to be accessible to any client that walks in the door.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: Artwork should be a minimum of 300 dpi or ppi (dots-per-inch or pixels-per-inch) with either a white, black or transparent background. Lighter garments are printed with a CMYK printer and darker garments will receive a white underbase with the CMYK ink on top.
GARMENTS: DTG printing is best on 100% cotton garments and cotton facing garments. The best items are the Gildan G5000, Gildan SoftStyle line, Comfort Colors and other cotton garments. Cotton is the best medium to allow for the most vibrant print! We love to see your colors pop!
